"The Definition of Strong with Jamie-Lynn Sigler” is the first episode of our podcast and it is one you will definitely want to give a listen to. For those unfamiliar with Jamie-Lynn Sigler, she is an actress best known for her role as Meadow Soprano on the HBO series The Sopranos and she is also the host of the podcast Mama Said where as Sigler puts it, talks about “the pretty and shitty of motherhood.”
In this episode, Jamie-Lynn opens up about what it was like being diagnosed with MS (Multiple Sclerosis),keeping it a secret for so long and how she’s been able to maintain her lifestyle. There are so many great takeaways from this conversation but some memorable moments were when Sigler expressed "MS in many ways broke me, but in other ways it broke me open and led me to find faith and redefine what that meant.” She elaborated a bit more when she revealed a lot of her self-worth used to come from outside validation and that one of the gifts of living with MS is that it allowed her to shift her focus to yourself-it made her “go in and dig deep.” Jamie-Lynn also gave us a quick glance into her day to day life diet and exercise wise and even shared how meditation and some good ol’ mary jane has helped her not only physically but mentally as well.
To hear Jamie-Lynn Sigler get down to the nitty gritty of what it’s like being a mother of 2 boys and living with MS, click your preferred listening app ( Spotify, ITunes, Soundcloud) and stay tuned for new I Love Wellness podcast episodes every Wednesday!
