I don’t know about you but when Thanksgiving and all of the upcoming holiday dinners come up my workouts tend to take a back seat and my “treat yo’ self” mentality goes full throttle!
Luckily I have the Lean Queen vitamin to help give me an energy boost as well as help with digestion but I want to be sure to stay active throughout the holidays even if its just a quick at home workout everyday.
To help give me a few tips on not totally disrupting my workout routine during the holidays, I spoke to the Lean Queen herself, Amanda Kloots and she shared three of her go-to moves for getting up and working that body!
LO : How do you stay in shape during the holidays, any secret we can know?
AK : Yes!! I literally bring my jump rope with me wherever I go! Jumping rope for 10 minutes burns 150 calories! So whether I can only do ten minutes or I have time to jump for a half hour I get in an amazing total body cardio workout!
LO : What is your fave love wellness product?
AK : My favorite product is the wipes because after a workout or in between workouts it is so nice to feel clean! It is also so important to prevent bacteria build up!
LO : What is your fave dish at Thanksgiving that you will jump 10 extra minutes for?
AK : Haha! Stuffing! I just can't stop eating it, especially if it's been cooked inside the turkey!
Below are some killer moves Amanda uses to get a full body workout which require no equipment and can be done anywhere, so no excuses ladies! All of these moves combined get your heart rate up with cardio while also targeting your arms, legs and abs!
This is a full body plank move!
Start standing then bend forward taking your body out to a full plank. Pull your right knee straight into your chest and hold for four counts. Switch knees and also hold for 4 counts. Jump both feet back in and return to a standing position. Do 16 reps.
This move is for your upper body and stability. Come into a pushup position either on your knees or in full plank. Do one pushup straight down leading with your chest. Return to the top and bring your right hand to tap your left shoulder then your left hand to tap your right shoulder. Do 16 reps.
This is a great cardio move that really works your legs! Start with your right leg in a curtsey position lifted off the floor. With both knees bent leap into the air separating your legs and land on the opposite side with your left leg behind your right. Try to keep your back leg off the floor as your land each time. Do 16 reps.
With a body like Amanda’s you can be sure I’m going to keep up with doing these three moves throughout the holiday season that way I can look cute in all of my outfits and not get caught in a pair of baggy (although very comfortable) sweatpants! Remember, staying active will help you with your guilty conscious after going for that extra drink or dessert! ;) Enjoy!
